This series looks into some of the most notorious prisons in the world. Attica Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison in New York, became infamous after a violent 1971 inmate uprising over poor conditions. The revolt ended in a deadly siege, leaving 43 dead. It exposed deep issues of prison brutality, racism, and human rights abuses.
